Ukraine to sign agreement with EU in '09: president

PARIS (Reuters) - Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said on Tuesday he was convinced his country would sign an association agreement with the European Union in 2009.

"We are convinced that in 2009 we will sign a very symbolic document cementing relations between Ukraine and the EU," Yushchenko told a news conference after meeting French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
