TowerBrook Capital closes third fund on $2.8 bln

LONDON, Nov 10 (Reuters) - London and New York-based private equity firm TowerBrook Capital Partners said on Monday it has closed its third fund, having raised a total of $2.8 billion of capital from existing and new investors.

Towerbrook, which specialises in complex, distressed and special situations deals, started fund raising in December last year with an original target of $2.5 bln. It held a first close in March this year at $1.7 bln.

Towerbrook's investments include women's luxury shoe brand Jimmy Choo and U.S. drinks retailer BevMo!.
