WARSAW, July 10 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press
reports and events to watch which may affect Poland's financial
markets on Friday. ALL TIMES GMT (Poland GMT + 2 hours):
BORROWING NEEDS
Poland's borrowing needs this year could exceed the planned
level if the situation on the debt market was as difficult as at
the start of 2009, Deputy Finance Minister Dominik Radziwill
tells daily Rzeczpospolita, but adds the ministry did not expect
this to happen.
TAX POLL
Support for the ruling Civic Platform would fall by 12
percentage points to 38 percent if the cabinet decided to hike
taxes, a move mulled in the face of the sharp slowdown, a poll
conducted by PBS DGA pollster for daily Gazeta Wyborcza shows.
Both opposition parties, the conservative Law and Justice
and the Democratic Leftist Alliance would profit by 4 percentage
points and could count on 27 and 13 percent, respectively.
JW CONSTRUCTION
Poland's largest homebuilder JW Construction JWCA.WA wants
to spend 1 billion zlotys ($313.8 million) on a wind farm in
north-west Poland consisting of 100 masts providing 2.3
megawatts each, the company's main shareholder Jozef
Wojciechowski was quoted as saying by daily Puls Biznesu.
BUDGET SUPPORT
Poland's government, battling to bring its gaping budget
deficit under control during an economic downturn without hiking
taxes, said on Thursday the central bank should transfer its
2009 profit to state coffers. [ID:nL9570600]
