Italian oil refiner Saras details 2010 maintenance
MILAN, Nov 10 (Reuters) - Italian oil refiner Saras (SRS.MI) said on Tuesday planned refinery maintenance would shave $8-12 million off its core earnings (EBITDA) in 2010, even though the schedule would be much lighter than the one carried out in 2009.
Saras, Italy's third-biggest refiner by capacity, plans maintenance for one topping unit (RT2), one vacuum unit (V2) and two conversion units, in the first quarter of 2010, it said in a presentation.
The shutdowns will trim the refinery runs at its 300,000 barrels per day Sarroch refinery to 24.8-26.3 million barrels in the first quarter compared to 27.7-28.5 million barrels in the third and fourth quarters when no maintenance is planned.
Planned shutdowns of RT2 and MHC1 units in the second quarter will trim the runs to 26.6-28.1 million barrels, according to the slides.
The cumulative impact on conversion capacity is about $0.1 per barrel, Saras said.
Two gasifiers and two turbines at Saras's power plant will go into maintenance in the first and second quarters of 2010, trimming the power output to 0.95-1.00 million megawatt hours (MW/h) in the first quarter and to 1.05-1.10 million MW/h in the second quarter, the company said.
Power output is seen at 1.1-1.2 million MW/h in the third and fourth quarters when no maintenance is planned.
