RPT-EDF discussing asset swap with Enel -report

PARIS, July 13 (Reuters) - France's main electricity provider EDF (EDF.PA) is discussing swapping assets with Italian utility Enel (ENEI.MI), French business newspaper La Tribune reported on Monday.

La Tribune said EDF was in talks with Enel over a deal whereby Enel would get a gas facility in France, while EDF would get a share of a Belgian gas plant that Enel is building.

La Tribune said a deal could be finalised between the two companies during the autumn.

Officials at EDF and Enel could not immediately be reached for comment on the report.

Last week, a French government source denied a news report that France would demand the resignation of EDF head Pierre Gadonneix due to the debt level at the state-controlled group. (Reporting by Sudip Kar-Gupta, editing by Will Waterman)
