PARIS, Feb 16 (Reuters Life!) - Mexican-born actress Salma Hayek and French entrepreneur Francois-Henri Pinault married on St Valentine's Day in Paris, an official at the town hall of the chic sixth arrondissement said on Monday.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the pair had tied the knot on Saturday morning.

Pinault, 46, heir to one of the largest fortunes in France, is head of retail group PPR (PRTP.PA), which includes the luxury Gucci brand as well as the Fnac retail chain.

The couple have a daughter named Valentina, who was born in 2007, several months after they announced their engagement.

The engagement was broken off last year but wedding plans were apparently resumed in the interim.

Hayek, 42, was nominated for an Oscar for her portrayal of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo in the 2002 film "Frida." She is also executive producer of U.S. television comedy "Ugly Betty". (Writing by James Mackenzie, editing by Paul Casciato)
