LONDON, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Slovenia's largest telecom operator, Telekom (TLSG.LJ), is in talks with banks to secure a 400 million euro ($500.8 million) syndicated loan, a banking source close to the deal said on Friday.

The loan will be used for acquisition-related purposes, the banker said, without commenting further.

Six or seven lenders have submitted bids to arrange the loan, he said.

Telekom has not tapped the loan market since November 2004, when it secured a 98 million euro, five-year EIB guarantee facility. The deal paid a guarantee fee of 37.5 basis points over EURIBOR.

Telekom is Slovenia's second-largest listed company with market capitalisation of some 1.2 billion euros. (Reporting by Christopher Mangham; Editing by Andrew Macdonald)
