ZURICH, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Swiss drugmaker Roche Holding AG (ROG.VX) said on Friday its rheumatoid arthritis drug RoActemra had received a positive opinion from the European Committee on Human Medicinal Products (CHMP).

The EU had given RoActemra, which is known as Actemra outside of the EU, a positive recommendation for the treatment of adult patients with moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis when combined with methotrexate, Roche said.

Recommendations for marketing approval by the CHMP are usually endorsed by the European Commission within a couple of months.

By 1335 GMT, shares in the group had fallen 4.5 percent to 149.20 Swiss francs, roughly in line with a 4 percent drop in the European pharmaceuticals sector .SXDP. (Reporting by Katie Reid; Editing by David Holmes)
