MILAN, Aug 22 (Reuters) - Italian lottery operator Lottomatica (LTO.MI) said a joint bid for a sport betting concession in Turkey was running its course, denying a press report on Friday that it had been put on hold.

The world's largest lottery operator is in a joint venture with Turkey's Dogan Yayin Holding (DYHOL.IS) and Italy's Snai (SNAI.MI) that bid for the exclusive concession for sport betting games in Turkey.

"Right now we are complying with all the requests of additional information within the timeframe set by the competition announcement," a Lottomatica spokesman told Reuters.

Quoting Turkish newspaper Yeni Safak, Italian daily MF reported the bid submitted by the joint venture had been frozen as Snai lacked some essential requirements.

But the spokesman said the consortium believed it had all the necessary requisites and expected to be reconvened with other bidders by Sept. 2, when a deadline for a final decision has been set.

At 1108 GMT, shares in Lottomatica were down 1.12 percent at 20.24 euros, having recovered from an earlier three-week low of 19.90 euros. Milan's leading S&P/MIB share index was flat. (Reporting by Valentina Za; editing by Sue Thomas)
