GREEK FEB C/A DEFICIT SHRINKS TO 1.256 BLN

Greece's current account deficit shrank to 1.256 billion euros in February, reflecting a smaller trade deficit, the country's central bank said on Wednesday. [ID:nLL455611]

GREEK INTRALOT WINS CROATIAN LOTTERY PROCUREMENT DEAL

Greece's Intralot (INLr.AT), the world's second-largest lottery systems supplier, said on Tuesday it was picked by Croatia's state lottery to supply and maintain an interactive gaming system. [ID:nLL632478]

GREECE READY TO TAKE MORE STEPS TO CUT DEFICIT-FT

Greece is ready to take further steps to bring its large deficit in line with EU rules despite public pressure for measures to soften the impact of the economic crisis, its Finance Minister said ahead of the EU's publication of 2008 deficit data. [ID:nLM509104]

ELECTRICITY DEMAND UP 0.7% IN MARCH-GRID OPERATOR

Electricity demand rose 0.7 percent year-on-year in March, according to data from the transmission system operator DESMHE, financial daily Imerisia reported. High-voltage electricity demand dropped 19.5 percent in March, since industries have cut production due to the economic slump, the paper added.

DEUTSCHE TELEKOM SLASHES OUTLOOK AS CRISIS HITS

The economic crisis hit Deutsche Telekom (DTEGn.DE), Europe's biggest telecoms group, as weak conditions and tough competition in major markets forced the company to slash its profit expectations for 2009.[ID:nLL40204]

Deutsche Telekom reportedly said acquiring a stake in Greek OTE (OTEr.AT) in 2008 had a positive impact on the German company's financial results, daily Imerisia wrote.

EUROPEAN SHARES SEEN UP, EARNINGS IN FOCUS
