BRUSSELS, Dec 24 (Reuters) - Belgian-French financial group Dexia (DEXI.BR) could enter into a partnership with France's Banque de la Poste to help Dexia access fresh financing, daily paper La Libre Belgique reported on Wednesday.

Both Dexia and Banque de la Poste declined to comment on the report.

By partnering with Banque de la Poste, Dexia could use the savings held by the French state-controlled bank to issue loans to the municipalities and other public bodies which it serves, the paper said.

It added that the group's board of directors had not yet formally discussed the possibility of striking a deal with Banque de la Poste.

Dexia, the recipient of a 6.4 billion euro ($8 billion) public bailout in September, last month posted a third-quarter net loss of 1.54 billion euros ($1.9 billion). (Reporting by Antonia van de Velde and Matthieu Protard; Editing by Jon Loades-Carter and Erica Billingham)
