LONDON, Nov 24 (Reuters) - The following corporate finance-related stories involving U.S. and European companies were reported by media on Monday:

* Major Wall Street firms placed large bets against Morgan Stanley (MS.N) using credit default swaps in September, two days after Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc (LEHMQ.PK) sought bankruptcy protection, the Wall Street Journal said [ID:nBNG425085].

* Blackstone group LP (BX.N) has cut the size of its planned Asia-focused hedge fund because the global financial crisis has led to redemptions, the Wall Street Journal said, citing people familiar with the situation [ID:nBNG424811].
