The Wall Street Journal reported last month that Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev had summoned the heads of the six foreign oil companies to a meeting on Jan. 11 aimed to resolve a deadlock over future the giant oil field.

"The meeting will take place on Jan.13 or later," the source said adding that Nazarbayev would be in China before that. (Reporting by Svetlana Kovalyova) (svetlana.kovalyova@reuters.com; +39 02 661 29450; Reuters Messaging: svetlana.kovalyova.reuters.com@reuters.net))
