WASHINGTON, Dec 1 (Reuters) - A U.S. federal appeals court on Monday affirmed a lower court ruling against Qualcomm Inc (QCOM.O) in a patent infringement case with rival Broadcom Corp (BRCM.O), but it vacated part of the ruling.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit agreed with the lower court that Qualcomm failed to disclose certain patents related to video compression technology to a standard- setting body.

But the lower court, the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of California, also ruled the patents were "unenforceable against the world."

The appeals court vacated this part of the judgment, and sent it back to the lower court for reconsideration. (Editing by Maureen Bavdek)
