"Jumper" tops overseas boxoffice for 3rd weekend

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - The sci-fi fantasy "Jumper" led the foreign box office for a third consecutive weekend, according to studio estimates issued Sunday.

The movie, starring Hayden Christensen as a young man who can "teleport" around the world, pulled in $12.8 million from 44 markets; its total stands at $81.9 million.

The political thriller "Vantage Point" was No. 2 with $11.5 million from 26 markets. It opened at No. 1 in Spain with $2.3 million, and will reach the U.K. and Japan next weekend. After two weekends, the foreign total rose to $14 million.

"No Country for Old Men," which won four Oscars last Sunday including best picture, had its biggest weekend yet on the foreign circuit, finishing at No. 3 with $8.6 million from 44 markets. Its overseas gross stands at $49.5 million.

At No. 4 was "Meet the Spartans," a comedy-satire starring Carmen Electra, which grossed $7.3 million from 22 markets; the foreign haul is now $12.3 million.

Finishing fifth for the weekend was "There Will Be Blood," fueled by two Oscar wins, including a best actor nod for Daniel Day-Lewis. The drama unearthed $5.1 million from 33 territories, lifting its overseas total to $17.4 million.
