Emily Leatherman, 33, was also charged with misdemeanor counts of petty theft and disobeying a restraining order, which was obtained against her by Cusack in 2007.

She has been held in custody on $500,000 bail since her arrest on Sunday and was expected in court for an arraignment later on Wednesday.

Leatherman faces a maximum of three years in prison if convicted. Sheriff's deputies took her into custody near Cusack's home in the posh seaside community of Malibu.

Cusack, 42, is best known for a string of 1980s films including "Sixteen Candles" and "Say Anything" and for "High Fidelity" in 2000.
