NEW YORK, Jan 3 (Reuters) - U.S. battery-maker Boston-Power Inc. is set to reveal it has raised an additional $45 million in funding from venture capital firms, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday in its online edition.

The move follows previous funding of $24.7 million for the company, which specializes in next-generation lithium-ion battery technology.

The latest funding, led by Oak Investment Partners as well as previous investors Venrock Associates, Granite Global Ventures and Gabriel Venture Partners, will be used to boost development, marketing and manufacturing, the report said. (Reporting by Ritsuko Ando; editing by Sue Thomas)
