NEW YORK, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Chemical maker Huntsman Corp (HUN.N) posted a bigger-than-expected quarterly loss on Wednesday, hurt by a high tax burden, but said profit for the current period would be better than a year ago.
The third-quarter net loss widened to $68 million, or 29 cents per share, from $20 million, or 9 cents per share, a year earlier.
Excluding an impairment charge, the loss per share of 24 cents was bigger than the 8-cent loss that analysts had expected, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Revenue fell 23 percent $2.11 billion. Analysts had expected $1.95 billion. (Reporting by Ernest Scheyder; Editing by Lisa Von Ahn)
