J&J says gets U.S. subpoena on bile-duct stents
CHICAGO, Aug 4 (Reuters) - Johnson & Johnson (JNJ.N) said on Monday it received a subpoena from the U.S Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts related to the marketing of its bile-duct stents.
In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, J&J said its Cordis subsidiary is cooperating in response to the subpoena, which it received in June.
In an SEC filing last month, Abbott Laboratories (ABT.N) said it received a subpoena from the U.S. Justice Department related to the sales and marketing of its bile-duct stents.
Abbott said the government was seeking to determine whether its activities violated the Federal False Claims Act, the Food and Drug Cosmetic Act and the Anti-Kickback Statute in connection with Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement paid to third parties.
