TORONTO, Aug 5 (Reuters) - Nexen Inc (NXY.TO) expects to resume production at its Scott and Telford oil and gas platform in the North Sea by the end of this week following about two weeks of scheduled maintenance, a spokeswoman said on Tuesday.

The platform was producing about 14,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day before the shutdown, Nexen's Lavonne Zdunich said.

Crude oil makes up about 85 percent of the production and natural gas the remainder.

Nexen, Canada's No. 4 independent oil explorer, owns 41.9 percent of the Scott field and platform and 71.75 percent of the Telford field.
