SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - The Oakland Raiders have signed former Pro Bowl wide receiver Javon Walker on a multi-year contract, the team said on Wednesday.

Walker, who was released by the Denver Broncos last week, joins the Raiders on a deal estimated by local media to be worth $55 million over six years.

The former Florida State standout is expected to receive a $6 million signing bonus and a salary of $5 million for each of the first two years.

Walker, 29, earned a Pro Bowl spot in 2004 after ranking third in the league in receptions with 89 for 1,382 yards and 12 touchdowns with the Green Bay Packers.

He also led the league in third down receptions (31) and third down receiving yards (518) in 2004.

A first round selection by Green Bay in the 2002 draft, he played four seasons with the Packers before being traded to Denver in 2006.

In his debut campaign with the Broncos, he became only the third wide receiver since 1970 to record a touchdown run and a touchdown reception of at least 70 yards in the same season.

Walker, who has battled injuries over the last three years, began the 2007 season with successive 100-yard games before being sidelined for two months after a third operation on his right knee.
