Dennis Hopper to star in "Crash" TV series

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Dennis Hopper will star in "Crash," Starz Entertainment's 13-episode series based on the Oscar-winning ensemble drama.

"Crash" features a different cast of characters than the film. Hopper will play a veteran maverick music producer looking for his last big score. The veteran actor's most recent starring series role was NBC's "E-Ring."

Clare Carey ("Jericho") has also joined the cast. She will play a frustrated mom who is married to a successful pre-bust real estate developer. They join the previously cast Luis Chavez, Ross McCall, Jocko Sims, Brian Tee and Arlene Tur.

Production has begun in Albuquerque, N.M., with additional filming to take place in and around Los Angeles, for an October premiere.
