US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-Dow turns positive on bargain hunting

 NEW YORK, July 6 (Reuters) - The Dow industrials .DJI
turned positive, while the S&P 500 .SPX and the Nasdaq
.IXIC pared losses as bargain hunters returned to the market
after a morning sell-off.
 The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI rose 12.24 points,
or 0.15 percent, at 8,292.98. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index
.SPX fell 1.61 points, or 0.18 percent, to 894.81. The
Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC lost 17.59 points, or 0.98
percent, to 1,778.93.
