US copper futures erase early gains after jobs data
NEW YORK, Nov 6 (Reuters) - U.S. copper futures surrendered earlier gains and headed into negative territory Friday morning after data showed U.S. employers slashed a deeper-than-expected 190,000 workers in October, pushing the unemployment rate to a more than 26-year high at 10.2 percent.
By 8:38 a.m. EST (1438 GMT), copper for December delivery HGZ9 dipped 0.80 cent to an early session low at $2.9490 a lb on the New York Mercantile Exchange's COMEX division. (Reporting by Chris Kelly)
