UPDATE 1-Pepsi Bottling Group names board chairman

NEW YORK, Oct 6 (Reuters) - Pepsi Bottling Group Inc (PBG.N) named Chief Executive Eric J. Foss to the additional title of chairman of the board, effective immediately.

Pepsi Bottling, the largest bottler of PepsiCo Inc (PEP.N) beverages, said non-executive board chairman Barry Beracha will resume his post as a board director.

Foss was named Pepsi Bottling Group's chief executive in July 2006. He also sits on the board of United Dominion Realty Trust Inc (UDR.N).

Beracha has been a member of the board since Pepsi Bottling Group became a publicly traded company in 1999. He also serves on the board of Hertz Global Holdings Inc (HTZ.N).
