Sunoco shuts Phila. diesel hydrotreater-regulator

NEW YORK, Jan 6 (Reuters) - Sunoco Inc (SUN.N) shut down a diesel hydrotreater at its 335,000 barrel per day refinery in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Jan. 2 for routine work, according to a filing with city regulators.

"Sunoco shut down the 231 Gulfiner for routine maintenance on 1/2/2009," said a spokesman for the City of Philadelphia.

Traders said earlier they expect the unit to be down for about two weeks. (Reporting by Janet McGurty)
