Brazil's Gafisa Q3 profit jumps versus year-ago

SAO PAULO, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Brazilian real estate developer Gafisa (GFSA3.SA) reported on Thursday net income of 85.8 million reais ($49.8 million) in the third quarter, compared 30.9 million reais a year earlier.

The Sao Paulo-based company was expected to report earnings of 79 million reais in the three months ended Sept. 30, according to the average estimate of four analysts polled by Reuters. Net income was 77.4 million reais in the second quarter.
