Rex Energy files for 8 million share offering

WASHINGTON, April 7 (Reuters) - Rex Energy Corp (REXX.O) on Monday filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for an offering of 8 million shares.

The company said it plans to sell 4 million shares and stockholders will sell an additional 4 million shares.

Rex Energy will use its share of the net proceeds for its capital expenditure program and for other corporate purposes. (Reporting by Karey Wutkowski; editing by Carol Bishopric)
