BERLIN (Hollywood Reporter) - Michael Douglas, Amber Tamblyn and Jesse Metcalfe have been cast in "Beyond a Reasonable Doubt," a remake of a Fritz Lang RKO film noir.

"Doubt" follows a journalist (Metcalfe) who seeks to expose a corrupt district attorney (Douglas) by setting himself up as the suspect in a murder he didn't commit. His plan backfires when the district attorney discovers the setup and gets rid of the evidence the journalist has amassed to prove his innocence.

Peter Hyams, whose credits include "End of Days," "Timecop" and "The Star Chamber," will direct the feature.

Douglas last was seen in "King of California." Tamblyn ("Joan of Arcadia") recently wrapped "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2."

Metcalfe is best known for his work on "Desperate Housewives" and next appears in Joel Shumacher's horror thriller "Town Creek."
