UPDATE 1-Hasbro recalls some Nerf Blaster toys

NEW YORK, Oct 9 (Reuters) - U.S. toy company Hasbro Inc (HAS.N) recalled 9,900 units of its Nerf N-Strike Recon Blasters on Thursday, saying children's skin could get caught in the toy's plunger.
The company said 44 incidents of injuries, including bruising, abrasion, pinch marks, were reported in children of ages four to 12 in the United States, and two instances of pinching were reported in Canada.
The blaster's plunger can pull the user's skin when the toy is fired, resulting in injuries to the face, neck or chest, Hasbro said in a statement.
Only blasters with an exposed orange plunger are being recalled, Hasbro said, adding that model number 63552 and UPC code 653569272021 can be found on the toy's packaging.
The Chinese-made blasters were sold at Toys "R" Us, Wal-Mart Stores Inc (WMT.N), and other discount stores and toy shops in the United States from November 2007 to August this year for about $25, Hasbro said in a statement.
Consumers can get in touch with the company for a free cylindrical cover for the blaster to prevent further injuries, Hasbro said. (Reporting by Aarthi Sivaraman; Editing by Steve Orlofsky)
