Cogeco Cable signs video-on-demand deal with Disney

TORONTO, Jan 10 (Reuters) - Cogeco Cable (CCA.TO) has signed a video-on-demand pact with the international television distribution arm of The Walt Disney Co. (DIS.N) that will add a slate of classic movies and new releases to the cable operator's offering.

Cogeco Cable, the second-largest cable company in the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Quebec, as well as Portugal, said on Thursday that its customers will have access to content from Walt Disney Pictures, Disney Animation, Pixar, Touchstone Pictures and Miramax through its video-on-demand service.

Cogeco Cable is a subsidiary of Cogeco Inc (CGO.TO), a Montreal-based radio, TV and communications group.

No financial details of the deal were disclosed.
