Lehman's Asia unit to reopen under Nomura-report
NEW YORK, Oct 10 (Reuters) - The Asia-Pacific segment of U.S. investment bank Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc (LEHMQ.PK) LEH.N will resume operations next week after a majority of workers there become employees of Nomura Holdings Inc (8604.T), according to a report by Nikkei Business News.
The report on Nikkei's website said most of the 3,000 or so staffers in Lehman's Asia-Pacific division were expected to sign new employment contracts with Nomura. It said Lehman's Tokyo office with about 1,300 workers was expected to reopen as early as Tuesday. (Editing by Brad Dorfman)
