NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst's directorial debut "The Education of Charlie Banks" is scheduled for a spring 2008 release in theaters.

Indie studio Anchor Bay Entertainment has acquired North American theatrical and DVD rights to the coming-of-age drama, which stars Jesse Eisenberg, Jason Ritter and Eva Amurri.

Eisenberg ("The Squid and the Whale") plays the title character, a high school student who witnesses a local bully (Ritter) savagely beating two teens at a party. Years after giving and rescinding his testimony to the police, the past comes back to haunt him when the bully shows up at his college and enters his life. Amurri plays the object of Banks' affection.

"Education," written by Peter Elkoff, won the Made In New York Award at this year's Tribeca Film Festival.
