NY Gov. Spitzer to resign-Fox News

NEW YORK, March 10 (Reuters) - New York governor Eliot Spitzer is expected to resign, Fox News reported, citing unnamed sources.

The Fox report aired prior to a brief news conference by Spitzer where the governor appologized to his family and to the public for a "private matter." He did not announce plans to resign.

The New York Times earlier on Monday reported that Spitzer was linked to a prostitution ring. (Reporting by Robert Campbell; Editing by Eric Walsh)
