LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - The Oscar-winning cartoon "Happy Feet" remained the top-selling DVD in the country for the second consecutive week, and surpassed "The Departed" to become the No. 1 seller so far this year.

"The Good Shepherd," meanwhile, debuted as the No. 1 renter, according to Home Media Magazine's rental chart for the week ending April 8. The spy thriller earned an estimated $8.7 million in rental stores, compared with $8.5 million for second-ranked "The Pursuit of Happyness," the previous week's top renter.

"Shepherd," directed by Robert De Niro and starring Matt Damon and Angelina Jolie, debuted at No. 3 on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart, behind "Charlotte's Web." The big-budget remake of the classic children's story, which stars Julia Roberts as the voice of the titular spider, bowed at No. 5 on the rental chart with $5.7 million.

Making a surprisingly strong debut its first week in stores was "Black Christmas" remake. The horror film earned just $16.2 million at the box office but debuted at No. 11 on the sales chart, and at No. 14 on the rental chart with $2.4 million.

"Jump In!" -- a Disney channel movie along the lines of the smash hit "High School Musical" -- debuted at No. 9 on the sales chart.
