NEW YORK, June 11 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks to watch on Wednesday:

STAPLES (SPLS.O)

U.S. office supplies company has won its battle to buy Corporate Express CXP.AS after the Dutch firm agreed to a sweetened bid of 1.7 billion euros ($2.65 billion) and ended its own deal with Lyreco. [ID:nL11414890]

Shares closed at $23.15 on the Nasdaq.

LEHMAN BROTHERS LEH.N

Lehman almost struck a deal with Korean financial institutions as part of raising $6 billion in capital and may yet arrange one by the end of the year, the Financial Times reported, citing people familiar with the matter. [ID:nSEO345738]

Shares closed at $27.50 on the NYSE.

UNION PACIFIC (UNP.N)

BURLINGTON NORTHERN SANTA FE BNI.N

CSX CORP (CSX.N)

NORFOLK SOUTHERN (NSC.N)

Goldman Sachs raised its price targets on the railroads.

UNP's shares closed at $78.56, Burlington shares closed at $111.56, CSX shares closed at $66.27 and Norfolk Southern shares closed at $64.59.

HARTFORD FINANCIAL SERVICES GROUP INC (HIG.N)

Hartford on Tuesday said its board authorized a new $1 billion stock buyback plan, and closed a hybrid debt offering that will allow it to accelerate the repurchase of another $500 million in shares. [ID:nN10381011]

Shares closed at $71.97 on the NYSE.

JOHNSON & JOHNSON (JNJ.N)

SCHERING-PLOUGH CORP SGP.N

An experimental treatment for rheumatoid arthritis being developed by Johnson & Johnson (JNJ.N) and Schering-Plough Corp SGP.N appeared to be effective and very safe in three late-stage trials, the companies said on Tuesday. [ID:nN10361395]

Shares of J&J closed at $65.62 on the NYSE, and Schering's shares closed at $19.61.

OXFORD INDUSTRIES (OXM.N)

Shares of Oxford Industries Inc (OXM.N) fell more than 5 percent to $21.62 following the closing bell on Tuesday as the apparel making company posted its quarterly results and trimmed its sales forecasts. [ID:nWNAS7872].

AMERIGROUP CORP (AGP.N)

Amerigroup suspended its full year guidance until there is resolution of its Tennessee rate increase. [ID:nWNAS7881]

Shares closed at $27.18 on the NYSE.
