Potash Corp workers ratify 3-year deal at 3 mines

TORONTO, Nov 13 (Reuters) - Unionized workers at three Potash Corp (POT.TO) mines ratified a new 3-year contract offer at three of the company's Saskatchewan mines on Thursday, ending a three-month strike.

The company struck a tentative deal with workers at its Allan, Cory, and Patience Lake mines on Nov 7. The union waited 6 days to hold the ratification vote to allow workers who had taken on other jobs to return for the vote.

Union spokesman Roger Falconer said the new contract was approved by 77.5 percent of the workforce.

The 500 workers walked off the job on Aug. 7 after contract talks broke down over union demands for a greater share of the company's profits. (Reporting by Cameron French; editing by Mohammad Zargham)
