Entergy N.Y. FitzPatrick reactor up to 97 pct
NEW YORK, Oct 13 (Reuters) - Entergy Corp's (ETR.N) 852-megawatt FitzPatrick nuclear power station in New York ramped up to 97 percent power by early Monday, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said in a report.
On Friday, the unit was operating at 20 percent of capacity after exiting a refueling outage.
The unit shut for the refueling by Sept. 13.
It last shut for refueling from Oct. 8-Nov. 6, 2006. The unit is on a 24-month refueling cycle.
The station, which entered service in 1976, is located on Lake Ontario in Scriba in Oswego County, about 90 miles east of Rochester, New York.
In September, the NRC renewed the plant's original 40-year operating license for another 20 years until 2034.
One MW powers about 800 homes in New York.
Entergy, of New Orleans, owns and operates about 30,000 MW of generating capacity, markets energy commodities, and transmits and distributes power to 2.7 million customers in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. (Reporting by Scott DiSavino; Editing by John Picinich)
