UPDATE 1-Colombia's Ecopetrol says to sell 10-year bond

BOGOTA, July 14 (Reuters) - Colombia's state-controlled oil company Ecopetrol ECO.CN ECO.N will sell a 10-year $1.5 billion bond denominated in dollars, according to preliminary terms described in a company statement issued on Tuesday.

No information regarding timing or pricing of the deal was included in the statement.

A marketing roadshow for the transaction is taking place through Wednesday in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and London, according to sources familiar with the deal.

Barclays Capital (BARC.L) and JP Morgan Chase & Co. (JPM.N) are lead managers. (Reporting by Nelson Bocanegra; Editing by Theodore d'Afflisio)
