Valero says Ardmore, St. Charles still not back

NEW YORK, July 14 (Reuters) - Valero Energy Corp (VLO.N) said Tuesday a crude unit, a gasoline-making FCC and a hydrotreater at its Ardmore, Oklahoma refinery have still not returned to production following a recent unit fire.
Meanwhile, the crude distillation unit at Valero's 185,000 barrel per day St. Charles, Louisiana refinery also remained down after an early June fire, Bill Day, a spokesman for the top U.S. refinery, told Reuters in an email.
"I don't have any new updates on Ardmore or St. Charles," Day added in his email.
A July 4 fire hit a naphtha hydrotreater at the 87,400 bpd Ardmore plant, prompting the refinery to keep the crude unit and the gasoline-making fluidic catalytic cracker (FCC) unit "on circulation" but not producing, Day has said.
Valero has also said that a vacuum unit and coker at St. Charles will be restarted once the crude unit returns to operation. (Reporting by Haitham Haddadin; Editing by John Picinich)
