US FDA approves NeurogesX Qutenza pain patch
WASHINGTON, Nov 16 (Reuters) - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved NeurogesX Inc's (NGSX.O) Qutenza pain patch for shingles, the company said on Monday.
The non-narcotic patch is put directly to the site of pain and can help reduce the discomfort, often severe, for up to three months, the company said in a statement.
In June, NeurogesX Inc (NGSX.O) announced a distribution agreement with Japan's Astellas Pharma Inc (4503.T) to sell Qutenza, in the European Economic Area, the Middle East and Africa. (Reporting by Maggie Fox; editing by Andre Grenon)
