GE, Google plan news conference on energy plans

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Energy conglomerate General Electric Co and Internet leader Google Inc plan to hold a news conference shortly on unspecified joint energy projects, the companies said on Wednesday.

In a statement, the companies said GE Chairman and Chief Executive Jeff Immelt and Chairman and Chief Executive Eric Schmidt will hold a news conference starting at 11:20 PDT on plans tied to "America's energy challenge."

No further details were available.
