Citigroup appoints regional heads for European M&A

LONDON, Nov 18 (Reuters) - Citigroup (C.N) has appointed six regional heads to assist Wilhelm Schulz in growing its mergers and acquisitions business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters.

The aim is to strengthen interaction between the bank's country-focused and industry-based M&A teams, the memo said.

Dan Bailey will direct coverage for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, supported by Craig Reisser and Andrea Nappi.

France, Belgium and Luxembourg is headed by Michael Nebot, while Simon Wilske leads Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Simon Lindsay will head up the bank's efforts in the UK, with Kim Tudor leading the Iberian team and Paolo Galli fronting Italy and the Netherlands.

Citigroup is still evaluating candidates for its Nordic M&A franchise.

The appointees will report to Schulz, who leads M&A for EMEA, and the relevant banking heads in the countries they represent. (Reporting by Victoria Howley; Editing by Tim Dobbyn)
