Gunman arrested outside Capitol
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A man with a shotgun was arrested a block from the U.S. Capitol on Friday but there were no shots fired or injuries, police said.
"We have one guy in custody. Nobody injured," said Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, a spokeswoman for U.S. Capitol police.
Police with dogs cordoned off several blocks as a bomb squad inspected his pickup truck. Schneider told reporters there appeared to be "items of concern" inside the truck.
She said the firearm appeared to be a shotgun, but declined to say if any other weapons were found.
