Chavez says studying Colombian FARC hostage release

MONTEVIDEO (Reuters) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said on Tuesday he was studying a proposal by a Colombian rebel group offering to turn over three of their hostages to him.

Chavez, who was in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo for a meeting of the Mercosur trade bloc, said he had not decided how to proceed with the proposal from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, known as the FARC.
