The food and consumer products maker said it will exit the kosher meat business, and discontinue processing and distributing products made under its kosher brands.

The company said the closure of the Chicago facility was originally referenced in a July federal filing. An outlet store on the premises of the Chicago facility is also being shuttered.

In a statement, the company said its long-term plan focuses on categories where it has a competitive advantage. (Reporting by Karen Jacobs; editing by Richard Chang)
