NEW YORK, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Blank check company Accelerated Global Technology Corp, a company headed by KLA-Tencor Corp (KLAC.O) founder Kenneth Levy, on Wednesday filed to raise up to $300 million in an initial public offering.

The company plans to offer 30 million units, with each unit at an offering price of $10 and consisting of one common share and one warrant, according to the Pleasanton, California-based company's registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Blank check companies, also known as special purpose acquisition vehicles, are formed for the sole purpose of acquiring other businesses.

Accelerated Global said it intends to use offering proceeds to acquire a business, with a focus on the technology industry.

Levy, who is Accelerated's chief executive, is a founder and former CEO of microchip equipment maker KLA. He retired from the company in 2006 when he was named chairman emeritus.

Citigroup Global Markets Inc and Jefferies & Co are underwriting the IPO. (Reporting by Lilla Zuill in New York and John Tilak in Bangalore; Editing by Brian Moss)
