Gasco Energy files for $250 mln shelf offering

WASHINGTON, Aug 22 (Reuters) - Gasco Energy Inc (GSX.A) on Friday filed to periodically sell up to $250 million in debt securities, preferred and common stock, and other securities.

The company said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it plans to use the proceeds from the shelf offering for general corporate purposes.

Under a shelf registration, a company may sell securities in one or more separate offerings with the size, price and terms to be determined at the time of sale. (Reporting by Karey Wutkowski; Editing by Gary Hill)
