The girl is Hawke's first child with Ryan Shawhughes, who was his nanny when he and actress Uma Thurman were married. Hawke and Shawhughes were wed last month.

Clementine Jane Hawke was born last Friday in New York City, said Hawke's publicist, Mara Buxbaum.

Hawke, 37, who starred in the 2006 movie "Fast Food Nation" and was nominated for an Oscar for his supporting role in the 2001 movie "Training Day," was married to Thurman from 1998 to 2005. The two stars have a daughter named Maya and a son named Levon.

Thurman, 38, revealed last month that she is engaged to London financier Arpad "Arki" Busson.
