-- Age 46 (Born May 6, 1961 in Kentucky, USA)

-- Notable Films: "Good Night, and Good Luck" (2005), "O Brother Where Art Thou" (2000), "Ocean's Eleven" (2001), "Syriana" (2005), "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" (2002).

Previous Awards & Nominations: This is the fourth Academy Award nomination for George Clooney. He won the best supporting actor Oscar for "Syriana" and was nominated for "Good Night, and Good Luck" (2005) for directing and original screenplay.

* DANIEL DAY-LEWIS - "There Will Be Blood"

-- Age 50 (Born April 29, 1957 in London, England)

-- Notable Films: "Gangs of New York" (2002), "A Room with a View" (1985), "My Left Foot" (1989).

-- Previous Awards & Nominations: This is the fourth nomination for Daniel Day-Lewis. He won the best actor Oscar for "My Left Foot" (1989) and was nominated as best actor for "In the Name of the Father" (1993) and "Gangs of New York"
